Patrick Leong was launched into the spotlight after his debut appearance opening for the world renowned opera singer, the late Luciano Pavarotti. Accompanied by the full ensemble of the International Orchestra De Italia alongside world renowned flutist Andre Griminelli performed to the music he wrote. A tribute honouring the victims and families at the 1st Anniversary of September 11th at Emerald Bay, Pangkor Laut Resort organized by YTL on the 7th September 2002. Before stepping out onto the platform, he made a vow to God to go into full time ministry and have since been 19 years till this day.
He then founded the first Local Christian Recording Label Oops! Asia in April 2003 with friends Juwita Suwito, Tina Yap & Yew Fui. To date has produced over 16 local Christian albums. In the years under the record label, its songs made its way to radio stations in Batam and Kuala Lumpur airing them over the entire nation of Indonesia, Singapore and Southern parts of Johor.
Oops Asia had also since established an independent office in Singapore in 2007 under Chris Chuah, a prolific songwriter and lawyer whose heart after God, has enable his ministry to gain ground in missions and outreaches in rehabilitation and counselling to the society in need both locally and abroad.
Apart from ministering in local sectors, in 2008 & 2009 Patrick was invited to sing at the Annual Gospel Concert in Atlanta, sharing the platform with Grammy Award heavy weights such as lead vocalist Jamie Jones of renowned international group All 4 One (songs like “I Swear”, “I Can Love You Like That” mega hits in the late 90s, Gospel Hip Hop Platinum Souls, Canton Jones and more. Further touring 3 other states during his stint in the US and finishing his tour with an appearance on Atlanta LIVE TV broadcast.
Ministering in the Asian sectors are Pattaya 2017, Phuket 2018 and Hanoi, Vietnam in Nov 2019 at the International Gospel Music Festival.
On the local front Patrick Leong was involved in the local music industry since 1997 backing up for Malaysia's top local artists Dato Siti Nurhaliza, Sheila Majid, Ning Baizura, Ajai & Nurul, Mas Idayu, Liza Hanim, Juliet deOrange, Syafinaz, Inuendo, Dato M. Daud Kilau, Nasyid Group Rabanni, Camelia, Erra Fazirra, Noraniza Idris, Dayang Nurfaizah, Amy Mastura & Shaun Bahrin. Appearing on LIVE National broadcast for the Juara lagu 1997. Teaming up with Malaysian Idol vocal coach Juwita Suwito, for gigs such as Anugerah Industri Musik, Suria Merdeka Konsert, Asian Diva Concert in Singapore.
His latest involvement was in December 2022 backing up for Dato Siti Nurhaliza, Aina Abdul and Khai Bahar at the “A Night To Remember” with Dato Siti Nurhaliza. Other backing vocal stints were for International Artists such as Taiwan's top vocalist Wang Lee Hom, Hetty Kosendang and Kris Dayanti of Indonesia. During this season he had also appeared on radio commercials for Celcom, Berjaya Times Square, HSBC & NTV 7.
Patrick continues to work on a project to project basis with renowned local music director, composer, music arranger and Jazz extraordinaire Aubrey Suwito, a well respected musician whom himself have worked with David Foster during the David Foster and Friends Tour in Asia.. Other secular engagement apart from Christmas events, he was also engaged to sing at the 90th Birthday Celebration of Her Majesty The Queen of England organized by the British Hi Commission of Malaysia at the Majestic Hotel on the 28 April 2016 hosted by YTL.
Other secular contributions were a fund raising album which raised over 45k through his ministry Oops Asia in aid for victims and families of the 2004 Asian Tsunami
He also wrote a tribute song for the families of the missing MH370 and presented it on the first anniversary of MH370 on the 8th March 2015 titled “While We Have The Time” on YouTube gaining a viewing of 29K since. Subsequently another new song "Search On" in the years ahead and in 2022 wrote “Searching For You” for the 8th Anniversary in 2022.
He was appointed as a Vocal Director under the endorsement of YAMAHA by Aubrey Suwito to assess 2 finalists, both Malaysian bands under the Battle of the Bands Competition by Yamaha in which the winning band was to compete in the World Band Competition in Japan.
Secular Contributions during Covid in 2020 as a backing vocalist to Malaysian songstress Ning Baizura for a song "Perwira" (Heroes) a tribute to all frontlines keeping the people and our nation safe during the pandemic.
A graphic designer by profession he also won the best album cover design for a secular artist last September 2022 beating 400 other entries at the prestigious Anugerah Industri Musik Awards for Ziha Salleh-Adat Kasih.
On the Christian arena, he had opened for renowned gospel greats as Don Moen and accompanied Bob Fitts in the few concerts held in Malaysia on the last 3 occasions.

He had also been involved in the prayer intercessory team in his former church, leading worship intercession, healing evangelistic rallies of Maldonado at Kelana Jaya Stadium and Nathan Morris’ healing rallies in Calvary Bukit Jalil.
He served as a worship leader in his later years in DUMC and after 14 years transitioned to Grace Assembly PJ as a worship leader and subsequently the head of worship ministry and has now transitioned out from Grace Assembly awaiting his next assignment.
